Wow, you did it. I hope you feel accomplished for completing the seven day fast and detox. Look at you being a person who does what they say that they’re going to do. I woke up this morning and went to a 7am workout class, and was overwhelmed with joy. I can’t believe we reached the finish line. I hope you feel transformed and renewed. Congratulations, I know this time wasn’t the easiest. It came with challenges, but you overcame the obstacles and made it to the finish line. Maybe for you, these last seven days were a breeze and you didn’t encounter any struggles, that’s great for you. For me, these seven days were a struggle. I had to constantly take my thoughts captive and keep my mind set on God. I hope that you’ve gained something new over these days. Maybe you added a new habit to your routine. Maybe you’ve picked up a new hobby you didn’t know you liked. Maybe you learned that you can get more done with less TV during the week. Whatever it is, I pray that you’re walking out better than you walked in. I pray you’ve created a better prayer life and deeper relationship with God. I pray that you learned something new about yourself during this time. I hope you got clear on the person that God created you to be, and how you should show up in this world. For the next couple of days, I am going to rest like never before. I feel like I’ve been pushed to my limit. I really wanted to make sure that this eighth annual fast and detox was one for the books, and God showed up. The way he used and flowed through me, words can’t even put into explain.
God, thank you. Thank you for showing up and meeting us. Thank you for using me as a vessel to pour into your people. Thank you for this special time with you, God. Lord, we put our future in your hands and ask that you will give us total peace about it. We don’t want to be trying to secure our future with our own plans. We want you to be in the center of YOUR plans. Lord, we pray that you would give us the strength to endure without giving up. We know that you have saved us and called us with a holy calling. Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you are always with us. We humble ourselves under your mighty hand. God, as we exit this time of prayer and fasting, I asked that you keep your hand on us. As we enter back into the things that we gave up, I pray that you let us remember this time with you. God, I pray that we never get too busy For you. I pray that you may the head of our lives, no matter what is going on around us. Help us to keep our eyes on you, and not what’s around. Help us to walk by faith and not by sight in this next season. We surrender ourselves to God, do with us as you will.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
I’ve truly enjoyed exploring our hearts, minds, purposes, harvests, environments and seasons. I don’t know why, but God laid it on my heart to use this tree analogy this year. We are the seeds planted in the world. I don’t know about you, but I feel like my heart has been cleansed and made new. My mind has been transformed. My purpose has been made clear. I’m prepared for the journey ahead. My environment has been decluttered, and matches my future. And I’m maximizing my current season.
Our lives are not about what we can accumulate in this world. We are called to be the answer for this broken world, not to fall in love with it. Stop falling in love with this world, because it is fleeting. That’s not our assignment. Make sure, going into this next season that you remain obedient to what God tells you to do. 2 Corinthians 9:10 says, “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” How are you storing the things in this season? Be mindful of this as you enter into the new season.
Luke 16:10 say, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” Can God trust you with the little? You can’t ask God for more in this next season, if you’re not being a good steward over your current things that you have in this current season. Mattie James once said, “ God pours his favor into willing vessels. To receive uncommon favor, you have to have uncommon discipline. When you have uncommon discipline, it tells God that you are a willing vessel.” When you give God your yes, and your actions align with that yes, he’s able to trust you with more. It’s always a little bittersweet when the fast comes to an end, because I love this special time with God. Of course, I prioritize special time with Him throughout every day, but it’s something about when it’s the only focus. When I go back into the things that I gave up, I don’t want to get caught up in the busyness of life, that I put him on the back burner.
As you return back to the things that you gave up today at noon, I pray that you are changed inwardly. Don’t be like the people of Israel who were held captive by what was behind them, that they couldn’t move to what was ahead. I’ll be honest with you, I don’t know what this next season has in store for you. It will likely come with its own challenges, but the one thing I know for sure, is that God is with you. I really hope this fast strengthened your foundation in him, so that when the rough times come, you can have peace in the storm.
Whatever he’s called you to do in this new season, he has equipped you with everything that you need. No matter how the circumstances may look, hold onto the word that God gave you. This is the season for crazy faith. I’m trusting and believing God for the impossible. Not only am I trusting him, I’m moving towards what that thing is. Remember, what you feed is what you put out. Are you feeding your fears, or your faith? Are you feeding your spirit, or your flesh?
I want you to remember how you’re feeling in this moment. I want you to remember the joy that stillness brings. If life begins to get two out of hand, you don’t have to wait for next year’s fast and detox, you can silence the noise on your own. The gift of pausing is great. Taking time to stop, think, and breathe is sometimes crucial to staying sane. The world has so much noise and outside influences, which sometimes makes it hard to hear God, or your own voice. Try implementing silent time into your daily or weekly routines. I pray that you learned some lessons during these seven days that you can take into this next season, and beyond. Go back to the list of questions that you wrote down on day one, and see if you God gave you the answers. Sometimes, God doesn’t respond to us, because deep inside, we know the answer already. I pray you’ve gotten all that you need during this time. I hope that you enter into this new season with a clear mind and opened heart, ready for all that is in store.
It’s less than 120 days left in 2024. It’s time to live a life of abundance. God did not put you here to live a base level life. Stop playing it safe. Get off auto pilot, and start living your life to the fullest. This next season of your life is only going to be different, if you take this step. If you want different, you have to do different. If you want better, you have to be better. It all starts with you. I appreciate those who reached out and shared their kind words about how this fast helped, it really warmed my heart. Do not get to next year and regret being in the same place. The year is not over. We have three months left to turn it around. Next year you can be in the same place, or you can be happy that you started now. Time is going to keep going, whether you’re ready or not. It’s time to move in faith, and go for the go! We serve a powerful, big, incredible God, stop being comfortable with a mediocre life. Thank you so much for joining me for the eighth annual fast and detox. I know this next season of your life is going to be a season of clarity, productivity, intentionality, joy, and increase.
